Zuber Comes Through In The Clutch!

The Barons turned a frustrating disaster into another exciting ballgame by beating Rochester 2-1. Lou Frazier and Wendell Magee were cold tonight, but 5 different Red Barons accounted for their 5 hits!!! Torey had a single and scored the tying run. Great pen work by Darryl Scott kept it close and sealed it for the "never say die" Red Barons and their Die-Hard fans!

ARKANSAS BLAST!

BIG ONE FROM JON ZUBER!!! His 6th of the year and it couldn't have been more timely!

ERA DROP ALERTS!!!!

EVEN SHUMAKER PICKS ONE UP!
Shumaker 6.42 -----> 6.03
Scott 4.30 -----> 4.15
GOOD JOB DARRYL!!

NICE PITCH DOUGIE!!!

Lint Trap!!! Lentil Soup! Litton Microwaves! FAT PICKERING!
Lou Lucca minus Joe Grahe = ROBERT DODD! Think about it! and Carver and Grahe thought our signs and cheers for Dodd were funny.

Here's that hehehe Dave Lefchak (hehehe) with his "two runs on 1 hit!"
MY TWO CENTS
by Dave Lefchak
August 9, 1999

The Red Barons needed just one timely hit tonight to shake the curse of Doug Linton, as he was
defeated 2-1 in a close, and at times frustrating game. Here are my insightful ramblings:

Tonight's Arkansas blast was the aforementioned timely hit that scored both our runs for the
game. Jon Zuber hit a shot deep to right-center field near the PNCBank auxiliary scoreboard.
It was his 6th of the year, and the first time I personally have seen him hit a homerun. Way to
go, Jon, keep it up!

Tonight's Charlie Hustle Award goes to every player who made outstanding defensive plays. There
were 3 that stand out in my mind inparticular: Billy McMillon making an excellent grab in left
field to save a run, Lou Lucca's shoetop catch and double play to save a big hit, and Darryl
Scott's flip to Lou Lucca on the bunt play to get the tying run out. Excellent support tonight,
defense!

Anthony Shumaker gave up some long fly balls, but none that left the yard. He pitched very well
tonight, and he should be commended for it. Darryl Scott was also superb in relief. And like I
said, the defense backed them up excellently. Let's keep this clutch pitching going against
Pawtucket on the road!

BRING BACK CLEMENTE ALVAREZ!!!!!!!! We can carry 3 catchers!!!!

Tonight's Trojan Boner of the Game Award goes to everyone who popped out tonight. It was
ridiculous that we couldn't get more than 5 hits off of Rochester, even if it was Doug Linton.

I think the award for Funniest Opposing Hitter Heckle goes to Red Wings DH Juilo Viñas. Of
course, since it was my creation, maybe I'm a bit biased in my opinion. You be the judge: "I'm
your Viñas, I'm your fire for your desire!" Hehe it's an old song.... oh never mind.

That's my two cents, gang. And always remember, enjoy the FESHtival.
