Dagger in the Heart

The Red Barons 6-4 loss hurt more than in the standings. Nobody seemed to have a good time and we turned on each other. Let's cut this shit now. I'm as responsible as anyone. We have to win and fighting ourselves doesn't help. Here is Dave's column.
Here's that zany Dave Lefchak (Lucca) with his "two cents!"
MY TWO CENTS
by Dave Lefchak
August 6, 1999

I thought we didn't have any high-priced talent on the Barons..... oh wait, I
forgot about Ken Ryan and Tyler Green because they are only high-priced. The
GreenRyan conspiracy was on again tonight, as the dynamic duo blew two
consecutive chances that we had to win the game. The Tides won the game 6-4
in 10 innings. Here are my insightful ramblings:

Ballscox!!!! Why must we be saddled with Green and Ryan? Why can't they
earn their paychecks like the rest of the pitchers did tonight? Barry
Johnson and Sean Fesh pitched superbly this evening only to have their
efforts wasted by the GreenRyan tandem. I can't keep screaming my lungs out
for these guys!

Arkansas blast for Wendell Magee..... he continues to crush leadoff pitches,
this one his 19th homerun of the year. Nice shot Wendell, but again I
say........ sorry it got wasted!

BRING BACK CLEMENTE ALVAREZ!!!!!!!! We can carry 3 catchers!!!!!

A new award for tonight's game: The Charlie Hustle Award. Tonight's
recipient is Red Barons shortstop John Finn. He trucked into home plate
tonight scoring the run that, at that time, gave the Red Barons the 2-1 lead.
He snuck his hand in under Amanda Romero's glove. That is the kind of
spirit this team is all about! Excellent hustle John!

Tonight's Trojan Boner of the Game Award goes to Bobby Estalella. He struck
out four times, but he also made a really dumb play in the 10th inning when
it didnt really matter anyway, but I digress..... one of the Norfolk runners
came in to home plate and he missed the plate. Bobby attempted to tag him
but was unsuccessful. Then, instead of running over to tag the runner who
was standing there by home plate, he ran out into the infield at a useless
runner while the other man scored! RIDICULOUS!!!!! Damn it, I'm too tired to
write anymore.

That's my two cents, gang. And always remember, enjoy the FESHtival.
