EXTRA INNING MAGIC!!!

The Barons took a 2-0 lead into the 7th inning behind Paul Byrd's strong pitching performance. Then, he nailed Brady Clark with an inside pitch. Brooks Kieschnick then deposited a pitch 420 feet from home plate, which in most parks would be a home run. This tied the score at 2 apiece. The Red Barons had runners on every inning but kept stranding them at key points. The reason why the Barons won this game had more to do with Louisville than with us. The Riverbats made 4 errors, including a crucial dropped fly ball by Brady Clark in the 10th on Chris Pritchett's pinch-hit fly ball. That botched play allowed 2 insurance runs to score. Jimmy Rollins had the game-winning RBI on a bunt single, scoring Dave Doster from third base. Thomas Jacquez (2-1) pitched the 9th to get the win, and Barry Johnson shut down the Riverbats to earn his first save.

ARKANSAS BLASTS?? NO THANKS!!!

We had a ton of hits, none that cleared the fences.

ERA DROP ALERTS!!

Byrd didn't earn one, alas, for he had no ERA to begin with... but he pitched well. Jacquez and Johnson pitched superbly to earn the following ERA drops:
Jacquez 0.84 -----> 0.77
Johnson 2.50 -----> 2.43
Where have you gone Chris Pritchett? Pritchett: "I'm back!!!"
