THE BARONS SWEEP ROCH. FOR 5 STRAIGHT VIC"TOREY"S!!!

Anthony Shumaker decided that he's had it with this "Nickle and Dime shit" and went out to shut down the Red Wings for 7 innings on a hot June Day at Frontier Field. Wendell Magee Jr. was our hands down player of the game going 4-5 with his 9th homer of the year.

LUCCA'S Italian Army!

While the CNNSI.com boxscore give credit to Darren Burton for his 2nd homerun, that 8th inning blast actually belonged to Lou Lucca, his 5th of the season. LOU! RIP US SOME AT HOME SO WE CAN SING RICKY MARTIN!!!!

ERA DROP ALERTS!!!!

Anthony Shumaker's strong 7 seven inning performance coupled with a Scott 8th and a Brewer 9th spelled shoutout for the Barons staff today. Once again, WAY TO MAKE DAVE EAT A SHITBURGER!
Shumaker 4.40 ----> 2.95
Scott 6.09 ----> 5.96
Brewer 5.18 -----> 5.05
GOOD JOB PEN!!!

ALL THE THINGS THAT DAVE HAD TO EAT TODAY!!!

CARVER!! 2-4 with 2 RBI off a big Double!
BURTON!! 2 RUNS SCORED AND STELLAR DEFENSE!!
STARTING PITCHING!! Second straight night the starter went seven scoreless (ER)!!
ARKANSAS BLASTS!! Wendell and La Vi Lou Lucca answer the call!! Sorry Dave, but you spoke too soon, check out Shu's ERA above!!!

MY TWO CENTS
by Dave Lefchak
"Because if I dont stick in my two cents, how can I make change?"
June 13, 1999

Today's column is subtitled "Corrections, retractions, and
apologies" for all of the supersized shitburgers the Barons
made me eat in the Red Wings sweep. Here are some of these
insightful tidbits:

Correction: Darren Burton does not suck anymore. He
finally broke out (on the road of course) and he has an
impressive hitting streak going. Let's just hope he
continues this rampage when he returns home tomorrow.

Retraction: SWB starting pitching is starting to show
signs of life, especially with the return of Joel Bennett.
Two shutouts against Rochester, which happens to be the
worst team in minor league baseball, were nevertheless
impressive for a staff which has been struggling as of
late. Kudos to Shumaker, Bennett, Johnson, and Green for 4
impressive outings.

Apology: Steve Carver, although he is still a load, can
really hit the ball when he wants to. He showed off the
bat today with a 2 RBI double to put the Barons up 5-0.
Steve, we know you will get in against Charlotte and
Columbus, two teams with which we will use DHs. Dont let
us down, or else you will feel the wrath of our heckling.

BRING BACK CLEMENTE ALVAREZ!!!!!

Apology: I would like to apologize on behalf of the Fesh
Fan Club to Brad Tyler of Richmond, last week's main
heckling victim in right field. He came through against
Pawtucket with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs to lead his team to victory
and it helped SWB to gain a game on the Pawsox! Thanks
Brad.... but dont think we like you.

ARKANSAS BLASTS FROM LUCCA AND MAGEE! Let the HR rampage
begin against Charlotte! WE'LL NEED IT!

Anyway, thats my two cents gang. Enjoy the FESHtival.
