TODAY'S GAME

Red Barons 6, Rochester 0

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons, led by pitcher Barry Johnson, shut out the Rochester Red Wings 6-0 Thursday night in Rochester.  The game was broadcast on 1400AM, the official station of the Red Barons.  Backup catcher Marc Ronan was also instrumental in the Barons victory.  This leaves SWB 5 1/2 back of first place Pawtucket.

MY TWO CENTS
by: DAVE LEFCHAK
Because if I don't stick in my two cents, how can I make change?
June 10, 1999

Barry Johnson gave me a nice big shitburger to eat tonight, making me regret saying that our starting pitching sucks.  The starters finally came through for the Red Barons in a 6-0 win over the hapless Rochester Red Wings.  Here are some of more of my insightful ramblings:

The Red Barons got Joel Bennett back, and that was good.  We need his major league experience and he needs to be introduced to the Sean Fesh club.  He missed a hell of a fan club down here, I'll tell ya.....

On a sadder note, Carlton Loewer's placement on the DL for a broken arm caused the Phils to call up fireballer Randy Wolf.  Let me be the first to say: Randy, your 10-strikeout no-decision outings will be severely missed.  Godspeed.

BRING BACK CLEMENTE ALVAREZ!

The lack of Arkansas blasts in tonight's shutout was disappointing.  Darren Blood isn't exactly Roger Clemens, you should be blasting that over the Fanovision at Frontier Field.

Bob is right, you can not pave a road with mackerel.  It is pointless to even try.

I viewed a little piece of Red Baron nostalgia tonight:  1992 Season of Champions video.  The best part was the Jay Baller Fan Club, our predecessors at Lackawanna County Stadium.  Our situations were so similar its not even funny.  That video really made me horny...um.. I mean wistful!!!

Marc Ronan showed off the offense tonight!!!  Where the hell did that come from?  He just wants a piece of the fan club.....

We got a major salsa performance out of Jose Flores tonight!  Not a bad game at all for the man who gets passed over for Matt Guiliano.

If Wally Joyner plays first base, and there is sand in the Sahara Desert, then Steve Carver is a load.

As the great Lou Brown once said, "Boys, we won a game today.... we win one tomorrow, that's two in a row.... we win one the day after that, thats called a winning streak.  IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE!"

That's my two cents gang, until tomorrow..... enjoy the FESHtival.
