BARONS LOVE EXTRA INNINGS!!!!![]() After
almost blowing it in the 9th, Barons redeem themselves against the SkyChiefs.
Chris Pritchett hit an RBI single with two out in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Red Barons a 6-5 victory over the Syracuse SkyChiefs. Pritchett, who also tripled and scored in the fifth, brought home David Doster from second base with the deciding run. Pat Burrell and Marlon Anderson committed two-out errors in the top of the ninth inning, enabling Syracuse to score three unearned runs. Ken Woods went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI single for the 2-1 Barons. Bryan Ward (1-0) allowed three unearned runs in the ninth but worked a scoreless 10th for the win. Mark Brownson started for the Red Barons and tossed four hitless innings, allowing two walks and striking out two. ARKANSAS BLAST!There were none to speak of on this day... many good hits however. Many bad 9th inning errors. Much BRS (Bad Reliever Syndrome).ERA DROP ALERTS!!!Brownson and Ward had no ERAs to begin with, and they kept them at a dental-floss thin 0.00 to begin the year. Mark Holzemer's 2 earned runs raised his ERA a bit. However, Barry Johnson didn't have a "run-of-the-mill" performance as he did opening night. He earned the following ERA drop:JOHNSON: 9.00 ----> 3.86 WHAT A DROP!! WAY TO GO BARRY!! I wonder if George Gilbert still works there...if he does, his Irish Eyes are Smiling!!!Click here to go back to other games past in the 2000 Campaign. Andre the Giant BOIOIOOIOING!!! Balsscox |
