WELCOME TO THE NEW FESH ARCHIVES!!
This section of the new website will be very loosely grouped,
but basically all of the old content will be reformatted and integrated here. Articles written reviewing seasons, reviewing ballparks, and
even reviewing which right fielder is the most hated (my money is on D.T.
Cromer) will be housed in this general section. If you're longing for the way the website used to look, have
no fear. You can still access those pages at http://fesh.freehomepage.com/index2.html
We now proceed in no particular order (chronological). Does anyone even
know if they still have 50 cent hot dog night? I've heard parking is going
to be free this season...sigh.
The Article That Started Fesh Fever!
Christened the Comeback Kid, one of the first things that ever
graced our pages was this article by Mark Bechtel. It chronicles Fesh's
effort to latch on with the Phillies back in 1998. As was put so
eloquently in May of 1999 by Don Knight, "This shows
why Fesh is the man..."

THE DAY THE CHEERING STOPPED...
Sean
Fesh Traded to Colorado
Sean Fesh was more than just a ballplayer to the people of the
Scranton Area. He was a hero, an idol, not to mention someone that we all could
identify with, and most of all a good friend. His following was the largest of
any Red Baron in history, spanning over an entire season and a half. It lives on
today thanks to the modern wonder that is the internet. It's slightly humorous
and ironic that the team Fesh was traded to is a combination of the SkyChiefs
and the PawSox. Sean, you'll be missed deeply, not just by the immediate
fan club but by all the kids you've touched and anyone who's ever enjoyed one of
our cheers or our taunts. As the Red Baron season winds down, we wish nothing
more than for Sean to get the September call-up to Colorado. We hope this is the
opportunity that the Phillies weren't prepared to give you. Hopefully Sean's
return to the PCL will be a success. In Sean's words, "LATER ON!"
Get vaccinated against Meningitis!!!
FESHPOLLS!!!
Although these have nothing to do with Fesh, I am nevertheless
intrigued by their findings!! This is where I ask you, the viewer, to voice your
opinion on an issue regarding Red Barons baseball. In order to attempt to clean
up the clutter on this main page, I have archived the results of all the Past
Feshpolls.
IL FANTASY BASEBALL!! (2001)
My big SWB-related project for the summer of 2001 was the
formation of the IL Fantasy Baseball League. We had 10 owners who selected their
teams and congrats to Dave Lefchak's Louisville Lock Monsters who defeated my
Rochester Wastemen 3 games to 1 in the finals!! The
league itself has a page! There you can see rosters, Standings, The
Rulebook, and Contact Info for each of the owners in the league!
*2006 Note - I have saved the stuff from the fantasy league to
this pay server despite freehomepage.com's seeming indifference to it taking up
space. You just never know when they might decide to pull the plug.
I left it as it was, which is why is doesn't match the rest of the web.
2005 ARCHIVES
Sean returned to the Phillies organization for the 2005
season. He was a member of the Red Barons until June 19 when he was sent
to Reading for the remainder of the year. Sean continued his AA dominance,
allowing only 4 earned runs (all in the same outing) in 24.1 innings of
work. We did manage to catch Sean in Syracuse, Rochester, and Scranton
along with our first trip to Erie's Jerry Uht Park.
Sean Resigns With the Phillies for 2005!!
Fesh
fans everywhere are rejoicing at the news that Sean had signed again with the
Phillies for the upcoming season! The Red Barons official website reported
the news on November 11, 2004. This marks the return of THE FESH to the
town that made him infamous!
Other important Red Baron players signed at the same time include Jim Rushford,
Mark Budzinski, A.J. Hinch, Buzz Hannahan, and Robert Ellis.
Following
is the excerpt from www.redbarons.com: SEAN
FESH……Pitched for Red Barons from 1998-2000….Had the Sean Fesh
Fan Club tracking his every move with their own website http://fesh.freehomepage.com/
……Played last season at Richmond and was 1-5 with a 3.74 ERA in 40 games.
News from 2005 Phillies Spring Training:
On March 19th against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Sean got in and
pitched a scoreless 7th inning before giving way to Billy Wagner (who throws a
little harder) in a 6-4 loss. Sean walked one and struck out one.
Here is the link
to the boxscore. Sean also got in on Thursday against the Astros and
retired the only batter he faced!!
In other news, the old fan club and the man himself managed to
get some pub in the Wilkes-Barre paper of all places! Van Rose has written
a very nice article which shows that Sean sincerely appreciated our efforts back
in the day. I had it linked here, but it has exceeded its free period
online and I totally screwed up by not copying it. If anyone has it, let
me know. It's from the March 26, 2005 edition of the Wilkes-Barre Times
Leader. Otherwise, I'll have to go to the library next time I'm in
town.
